Robert F. (Bob) Welch II is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army with 28 years of commissioned service. He has been married for 34 wonderful years to his wife Barbara. As a father of the Foundation's namesake, Bob had the privilege of honoring the family's continuing legacy of service by giving Rob his oath of enlistment and at his commissioning.
Since retiring in 2005, he has worked 15 + years in the corporate world and was a substitute teacher in the Wylie, Allen, and McKinney school districts including being a Special Needs Teacher.
While working at the Frontiers Museum in Dallas for almost 10 years Bob received his Masters of Art in the Museum Studies program from the University of Oklahoma.
Bob is very active in several community and Living History groups including the American Legion Post 315, Military Order of the World Wars, TEXANA Living History Association, and the Dallas/Fort Worth G.I. Joe Collectors Club.
